BIREUEN, ACEH – A deeply moving atmosphere of gratitude and joy filled the Qur’anic learning centre in Kareueng Village, Kuala District, Bireuen Regency, as one hundred young Qur’anic students received copies of the Holy Qur’an from Relawan Peduli Rakyat Lintas Batas (Volunteers Caring for the People Across Borders).
For the children who gather at the modest learning centre each day, the Qur’an represents far more than a sacred book. It is a guiding light for their faith, character, and future. Many of them attend the centre after school, sitting cross-legged on the floor as they carefully recite the holy verses together, despite the limited facilities available.
Recognising the strong dedication of the children and their teachers, Relawan Peduli Rakyat Lintas Batas, a humanitarian volunteer organisation committed to supporting community welfare and education, stepped forward to provide copies of the Holy Qur’an in order to support the children’s religious learning.
The humanitarian initiative was led directly by Arizal Mahdi, Chairman of Relawan Peduli Rakyat Lintas Batas, who attended the event together with volunteers. He was accompanied by Tgk Ansari, a member of Relawan Peduli Rakyat Lintas Batas in Bireuen Regency, who also helped distribute the Qur’ans to the students.
As the Qur’ans were handed out, the children’s faces lit up with quiet excitement. For many of them, owning a personal copy of the Holy Qur’an is a meaningful blessing that will accompany them throughout their journey of learning and faith.
Tgk Muzakkir, Head of the Kareueng Village Qur’anic Learning Centre and also the Village Imam, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support provided to the students.
“We are deeply grateful and sincerely thank Relawan Peduli Rakyat Lintas Batas, especially Mr Arizal Mahdi and all the volunteers who have generously provided copies of the Qur’an for our children. This support means a great deal for the students who come here every day to study and recite the Qur’an,” he said.
Appreciation was also conveyed by Muhajir, S.Pd.I, Head of Kareueng Village, who described the initiative as a meaningful contribution to the religious education of the younger generation.
“On behalf of the Government of Kareueng Village, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Relawan Peduli Rakyat Lintas Batas for helping the children in our community. May every verse recited by these children become a continuous charity whose blessings continue to flow for the volunteers and generous donors who made this possible,” Muhajir stated.
A similar message was delivered by Sultan Ahmad Rifai, S.Kep, Secretary of Kareueng Village, who praised the initiative for strengthening the moral foundation of young people.
“We greatly appreciate the concern shown by Relawan Peduli Rakyat Lintas Batas. Qur’anic education is an essential foundation in shaping the character of the younger generation so that they grow into individuals of faith, integrity, and noble values,” he said.
Meanwhile, Arizal Mahdi, Chairman of Relawan Peduli Rakyat Lintas Batas, emphasised that the distribution of Qur’ans reflects the organisation’s commitment to strengthening moral and spiritual education within rural communities.
According to him, village Qur’anic learning centres play a vital role in nurturing future generations who will uphold the values of faith, honesty, and compassion within society.
“When a child learns to read the Qur’an, we are planting a light within their heart. From that light grows a generation that values honesty, compassion, and responsibility towards others. This is one of the greatest investments for the future of our community and our nation,” he said.
Relawan Peduli Rakyat Lintas Batas also invites philanthropists, community leaders, and compassionate individuals to take part in supporting similar initiatives aimed at strengthening educational and humanitarian efforts across rural communities.
Every copy of the Qur’an given to a child learning to recite it represents more than educational assistance. It is considered sadaqah jariyah, a continuous act of charity whose blessings endure as long as the Qur’an continues to be read, studied, and practised.
Within the simple walls of the Kareueng Village learning centre, a quiet but powerful hope is growing. In the small hands holding the Qur’an today lies the promise of a future generation guided by faith, compassion, and moral strength.
