FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE AT ALMUSLIM UNIVERSITY AND RELAWAN PEDULI RAKYAT LINTAS BATAS ESTABLISH STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

BIREUEN — The Faculty of Agriculture at Almuslim University and Relawan Peduli Rakyat Lintas Batas have officially established a strategic partnership designed to advance the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through education, research, community engagement, and humanitarian initiatives.

The agreement reflects a shared commitment to strengthening cooperation between academic institutions and community-based social organisations in support of inclusive, sustainable, and locally driven development.

Through this initiative, both institutions will develop collaborative programmes focused on agricultural advancement, food security, community economic empowerment, human resource development, and humanitarian and social initiatives.

The partnership is intended to enhance synergy between higher education institutions and social organisations while supporting the implementation of academic programmes, research activities, and community service initiatives rooted in local potential and regional priorities.

In addition, the collaboration seeks to strengthen humanitarian action, disaster response initiatives, public service programmes, and the active participation of students, lecturers, and volunteers in sustainable community development.

The scope of cooperation includes educational activities, professional training, seminars, workshops, public outreach programmes, and joint research in the fields of agriculture, food systems, environmental sustainability, and community empowerment.

Both parties will also support community service programmes through assisted villages, field practice activities, MBKM community engagement programmes, student internships, and direct mentoring initiatives across various sectors of community development.

Within the area of community empowerment, the initiative includes capacity-building programmes for farmers, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), farmer groups, and local communities through food security programmes, appropriate technology development, and community-based entrepreneurship initiatives.

Meanwhile, in the humanitarian sector, both institutions have agreed to strengthen coordination in disaster relief programmes, humanitarian missions, social service activities, and the development of responsive volunteer networks aimed at supporting vulnerable communities.

The partnership also creates opportunities for the exchange of information, expertise, resource persons, institutional experience, and other supporting resources in order to strengthen programme implementation through a collaborative and sustainable approach.

This strategic cooperation is expected to contribute towards the development of a stronger collaborative ecosystem between academia and social movements while promoting public welfare, food security, environmental sustainability, and community resilience.

Through the implementation of this partnership, students are expected to gain broader field-based learning opportunities that will enhance their academic capacity, social leadership, research capabilities, and practical experience in direct community engagement.

The collaboration between the Faculty of Agriculture at Almuslim University and Relawan Peduli Rakyat Lintas Batas is also expected to serve as a model of constructive partnership between higher education institutions and humanitarian organisations in addressing social and development challenges through education, innovation, and community-based action.
