BANDA ACEH — The Chairman of Relawan Peduli Rakyat Lintas Batas, Arizal Mahdi, expressed his profound appreciation to Muzakir Manaf (Mualem) for the decision to revoke Aceh Governor Regulation Number 2 of 2026 concerning the Aceh Health Insurance Scheme (JKA).
According to Arizal Mahdi, the decision reflects responsive, compassionate, and statesmanlike leadership, particularly in safeguarding the interests of underprivileged communities who have long relied upon the JKA healthcare programme.
“We extend our sincere gratitude and highest appreciation to Mr Mualem for listening to the aspirations of the Acehnese people. This decision demonstrates that the voice of the people remains a central consideration in every government policy,” Arizal Mahdi stated in Banda Aceh on Monday (18 May 2026).
Previously, the Aceh Government officially announced the revocation of Governor Regulation Number 2 of 2026 after receiving extensive feedback and recommendations from the public, Islamic scholars, academics, university students, and various civil society groups across Aceh.
“We are revoking Governor Regulation Number 2 of 2026. All Acehnese citizens will once again have access to healthcare services as normal,” said Muzakir Manaf through an official statement delivered by the Aceh Government Spokesperson, Nurlis Effendi.
Arizal Mahdi emphasised that access to healthcare is a fundamental right that must be protected without discrimination or administrative barriers.
“Healthcare is not merely a programme, but a fundamental humanitarian right. Therefore, every policy must ensure that vulnerable communities remain protected and are able to access fair and equitable healthcare services,” he stressed.
He also expressed appreciation to all elements of Acehnese society — including students, Islamic scholars, academics, social activists, and members of the press — for conveying their aspirations peacefully, democratically, and with dignity.
According to him, the revocation of the regulation represents an important momentum for strengthening the spirit of social justice, unity, and collective concern for the people of Aceh.
“This decision is also expected to strengthen social unity, stability, and public confidence in the government’s commitment to safeguarding the fundamental rights of the Acehnese people,” Arizal Mahdi added.
He expressed hope that future public policies in Aceh would increasingly uphold humanitarian values, social justice, and meaningful support for ordinary citizens.
“May Allah SWT continue to grant strength, wisdom, and blessings to all leaders in Aceh in carrying out their responsibility to serve the people,” he said.
Relawan Peduli Rakyat Lintas Batas reaffirmed its commitment to continue standing alongside the people, supporting policies that prioritise public welfare, and upholding the principles of justice, humanity, and social solidarity towards a more dignified, equitable, and prosperous future for Aceh.
